How to install ultrasonic equipment in an existing container


Ultrasonic energy increases the quality of cleaning and decreases the cleaning time several times. A lot of our clients are asking “How can we install ultrasonic equipment in an existing container?” or “How can we build our cleaning equipment our selves by using separate assemblies?”
These are not complicated issues, but the following basic information is necessary:
1. The cleaning effect is produced by the cavitation bubbles that appear in the cleaning liquid.
2. The cleaning solution must be liquid without gases. Dissolved gases damp the ultrasonic activity and decrease the cleaning effect.
3. Another important fact is that the sound (ultrasound)energy decrease is equal to the distance raised to the second power. As far is the distance between the ultrasonic transducer and the cleaning details as lower will be the ultrasonic activity on them, as less will be cavitation bubbles that will appear, i. e. the cleaning effect will be decreased.
4. The power of the ultrasonic equipment should correspond to cleaner's capacity and the way of placing the ultrasonic immersible transducers. It is recommended that the power of cleaners above 500 litters is selected between 5 and 10 watts per litter.
5. While configuring the power and the number of the immersible transducers it is important to consider the fact that the power is higher if the oscillating surface is larger. For example, two transducers of 600W each have larger oscillating area than one transducer of 1200W. Two transducers create uniform ultrasonic field inside the cleaning solution.
6. Choose one generator SG.XXX.OOF with the corresponding power for each immersible transducer.
7. Make sure the immersible transducers are placed inside the cleaner and covered by the cleaning liquid – this is the most important requirement. The immersible transducer cannot operate in air but it operates inn any position.
8. Fixing of immersible transducers should be solid and it is not allowed to place anything on the oscillating surface of the transducer.
9. The ultrasonic generators type SG.XXX.OF should be mounted in a cabinet with all necessary protection and electrical equipment.
10. The ultrasonic generators are completely controllable and can be connected to PLC as well as to manual switch for turning ON/OFF.
11. Read carefully all information from the section with ultrasonic generators and ultrasonic transducers.
12. Before starting to build an ultrasonic equipment you should be aware of the fact that in this technology as in any other, there is a lot of KNOW HOW, you will have to get to either with a lot of reading, experimenting, faults and analysis, or with buying it.
